Business Development Manager (Bigkid Agency)


To proactively generate new business opportunities and revenue streams across the full range of target sectors and media channels on behalf of our integrated design agency, Bigkid, and the wider Cubiquity business.


  • To successfully target sales contacts, converting leads into sales and revenue in line with individual targets set.
  • To support the Group Sales Director and the Director of Creative Services in the strategic development of the creative service business.
  • To clearly communicate new business opportunities back to the internal operational teams and manage the iterative process through to completion.
  • To effectively market the business through networking, list building, cold-calling, the internet, social media and other appropriate communication channels.
  • To be a key communicator in the creative pitch environment.
  • Develop strong account plans with individual clients to maximise brand exposure.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate tactical activities to deliver account and company objectives as defined by the leadership team.
  • Conduct regular business review meetings with clients as required and consistently identify new business opportunities selling across a wide range of creative skill sets and communications environments, e.g. graphic design, identity and brand development, publications, internal communications, B2B and corporate communications, website, digital communications, social share, exhibitions and the retail experiential space.
  • Deliver first class sales performance reporting, tracking and administration records.
  • Act as a brand ambassador to the Cubiquity business.
  • Manage own travel schedules, expenses and time away from office.
  • Perform other duties assigned by immediate line manager.


  • Minimum five years sales experience in a relevant creative environment role, preferably in a full service / through the line design agency.
  • Strong knowledge of website development process, the digital space, trending arenas and associated technologies.
  • Specific awareness of how to use social media as a tool for business growth.
  • Inclusive process and team management skills, involving the right people at the right time to get the job done in the best way possible.
  • Big picture focus, working towards long term success, not just short term gain.
  • Excellent spoken and written communications skills.
  • Confidence, tact and a persuasive manner both externally and internally when working with colleagues, stakeholders and clients.
