Crest Nicholson: Transforming development marketing

Crest Nicholson is a leading UK housebuilder, creating homes and sustainable communities across five regional offices. With around 70 live developments at any one-time, regional teams needed a faster, more controlled way to brief, manage and adapt development marketing activity. What began as a print rationalisation project evolved into a more digitally led marketing workflow, centred on clearer processes, stronger brand governance and a more efficient route for creating collateral.

The challenge

Regional teams were working with different design agencies, printers and local processes, which created duplicated effort, inconsistent brand execution and limited visibility of what was being produced. Local flexibility still mattered, but the fragmented approach made it harder to control artwork, approvals, content updates and spend. Crest Nicholson needed a smarter model that protected the brand while giving each region the tools to move quickly and manage marketing with confidence.

The solution

Cubiquity and Bigkid created a more connected model for briefing, ordering, artwork management and delivery. At the heart of the solution was a central digital portal, supported by clear brand guidelines and an interactive briefing process. This gave regional teams a structured way to request and adapt materials, while giving Crest Nicholson tighter control over approvals, artwork consistency, supplier activity and print-on-demand requirements where physical collateral was still needed.

The outcome

By replacing multiple disconnected routes with a more controlled digital process, Crest Nicholson gained better visibility, stronger brand control and a simpler way to manage development marketing. Print became a responsive output of the process, rather than the centre of it, helping teams reduce production costs, speed up day-to-day delivery and focus more time on customer experience and strategic marketing activity.

Why print still matters in a digital age (especially for B2B)

In a world of overflowing inboxes, endless tabs and fast-moving digital content, print still has the power to make people pause. For B2B brands, it offers something digital often can’t: a tangible, memorable experience that builds trust, reinforces credibility and helps campaigns stand out for the right reasons.
